Adult Vacation - Coming Soon

Every two years between baby births, Greg and I take vacations. Usually I'm 5 months pregnant when we go, but this time I'm NOT pregnant, so we can be a little more adventurous. So this Friday we are heading to Costa Rica for 7 days. The kids will be left in the hands of a good friend and hopefully won't miss us too much! So, unless we lose our camera or it gets soaked from all the rain we are expecting to encounter, I should have some great pictures to share when we return! Hasta Luego!

This is the other activity Greg is very excited about. I'm just worried I'm going to dislocate my shoulder again. I used to be so much more adventurous!

Our weekend getaway. . .

. . .without the kids. Yes, our first since Sidney was born. It was great! And my mom said Sidney was easy. I was so worried - well, the first few hours at least! The night before we left, we took the kids to dinner at Red Robin at the Spectrum.

Then it was off to Utah the next day. We took the kids to Mom's and they were all so excited. Even Sidney was dancing around being silly. Made me feel good leaving her while she was so happy.

We arrived in Salt Lake and did some shopping at the Gateway Shopping Center. . .

I forget how absolutely gorgeous the flowers are in Utah. I had to take a picture. And of course this picture does not do justice! (I meant to the flowers.) We then went to dinner at the Tuscany in Holliday. The ambiance was terrific, the food just good, not great. We really are spoiled here in California! Then we stayed the night in Provo hotel. Greg was hoping to run into some UCLA football players. Wrong hotel, sorry Greg!

Then the next day we went to the BYU/UCLA blow-out game. By half time I was so tired of singing my alma mater song. I never thought I'd see the day. The game was a joke and I felt really bad for my hubby. By half-time his Bruin pride was in the toilet!

Again, I can't get enough of these beautiful flowers. The campus is just beautiful!

And then there was the building I spent so much time in while getting my Nursing Degree.

This trip was truly nostalgic for me. The feeling from walking around campus brought back SO MANY awesome memories and I remembered why this truly is the BEST university. I kind of wished I was back in college again. The things I would have done differently! Thanks to my wonderful husband for making this weekend happen! I'd do it again in a hearbeat!

After the game we went to stay at my brother's house outside of Ogden, my Dad came too!

This is my cool nephew Nathan. His hair ROCKS! It's just like my brothers! This little man is a crack-up and he really likes me (that's why I think he's extra cool!)

Everett's first day of SHUMP

Does this look like an boy afraid to start preschool? NOPE! He's been waiting to go to this preschool for as long as he can remember. Dawson went to this preschool for two years before both boys went to a Montessori school last year. I think Everett likes this school better because the focus is not solely academic, so the pressure is off! Although Montessori schools have the coolest learning materials, I think Everett prefers the developmental approach at preschools. When he's happy, so am I!!!!!

Dawson starts Kindergarten and other new beginnings

Dawson started Kindergarten last week. Yes he is probably the oldest in his class and hopefully will be a leader. Greg is convinced that holding him back a year will be the best thing we can do for his athletic career. I'm still on the fence, but whatever! He certainly is proud and did not show much nervousness. He has already made some friends and is happy to be among his peers. Just before meeting his new teacher

And as for the New Beginnings, it seems that Everett has new found desire to do more with Sidney. We aren't holding our breath, but hopefully he has turned over a new leaf and will start actually having some kind of positive relationship with his sister. I know she will welcome it. Here, he asked to feed her a bottle. I was so thrilled I had to take a picture. And he did it again today before her nap! I think my prayers are finally being answered and man, have there been many!!!!!

The Seeman Family Reunion

The Seeman Family descended upon our household in mid-August for a week. We loved having them here. Though nothing extraordinary in nature, our reunions, so to speak, are always filled with lots of warm fuzzies! Grandpa, Tim and Dawson playing baseball in our backyard
